Windows is not saying it is dangerous: it says it does not recognize it, because the installer is not code-signed and that certificate costs around 200 dollars a year. The same happens to any small program that does not pay for that signature. Every release publishes the installer SHA256 fingerprint next to the download button, so you can check for yourself that what you downloaded is exactly what was uploaded.

It records with the graphics card, not the processor. On modest machines the impact is small; if it is still noticeable, Settings → Video lets you lower the quality, and the cost drops with it.

It depends on the quality. Ultra is about 34 Mbps, roughly 250 MB for a five-minute pull. There is a configurable cap, 100 GB by default, and once exceeded the oldest recordings are deleted automatically.

Only if you switch it on. Recordings land on your drive and stay there — for anything to leave your PC you have to make an account, join a guild and turn uploading on. That part is Nova, and it comes switched off. Leave it off and the one thing the app ever asks the internet is whether there is a newer version.

Your guild, and nobody else. An uploaded PoV shows up inside the guild you sent it to: no public listing, no search, no way in from outside. Showing one to somebody who is not in the guild takes a link you make on purpose, and you can take that link back.

Yes — you make a link for it. It opens that one PoV and nothing else: whoever you send it to needs no account, and there is nothing to click through to the rest of the guild. Send the whole thing, or mark a stretch of it — from here to here, no re-encoding and no second upload — add a line so they know what they are looking at, and see how many times it has been opened. Revoke it whenever you like; the video stays exactly where it was.

Through the beta, nothing. Every guild has a 30-day trial with 100 GB for the whole group, and you start it when you are ready to use it — creating the guild starts no clock. There is no way to pay yet, deliberately: we want a full season measured before putting a price on storage.

You get told, and told early. Once a plan ends, what you uploaded stays up for another 7 days — you can still watch it and download it — and is deleted after that. An email goes out before the end, the app and the site both count the days down, and nothing disappears quietly. What sits on your own drive is never touched.

You upload yours anyway, and it still helps. The grid shows your PoV next to the pull's roster — the whole raid, with their class and specialization — and anyone who did not upload is grayed out. Those are the people to go and ask.

That is what the upload cap is for: tell it how many Mbps it may use and it will not go past that. And if you would rather it did not upload while you play, switch automatic uploading off and send everything when you are done.

Whatever is in the recording goes up, because the file is uploaded as it is. That is what the overlay is for: a still image over the chat area, under Settings → Overlay, hiding whispers and names before they are recorded rather than after. If you are uploading to a guild, turn it on before your first night.

Then you never do, and the whole app carries on as it is. Recording, trimming and going back over your own pulls is free for good, with no account and no connection. Nova is what you add when you want to watch the pull through everyone else's eyes.

No. It is included in the installer, in its own folder with its own configuration. If you already use OBS to stream, your installation is left untouched: they are two independent installs.

Because OBS and ffmpeg are included. This is deliberate: the alternative is asking you to install and configure both yourself, which is where most people give up.

Yes, with the sidebar button or Ctrl+Shift+R, which works without leaving the game. And any recording can be trimmed into a clip and shared without modifying the original.

It notifies you inside the application when a new version is available and installs it at the press of a button. You never go through the Windows screen again, or download anything by hand. It never updates in the middle of a recording.

Yes, if you leave game audio turned on. What it records is everything coming out of your speakers or headphones, and that includes your group's voices, music and anything else. You can turn it off under Settings → Video and audio, in “Record game audio”, and you can also pick a specific device instead of the Windows default. The microphone is separate and ships turned off.

Yes. The Astro PoVs addon turns it on by itself when you enter a raid or a key, and again after a disconnect. The app offers to install it in one click; it is also on Wago Addons, CurseForge and WowUp. The setup guide explains it.

Possibly, but we do not know yet. The combat log format is fairly close to the current game's, so there is a decent chance it works — nobody has tried it, though, and we would rather not promise it before seeing it. If you feel like giving it a go, tell us on Discord; we would really like to know.

No, for now there is only a Windows build — and Windows is where everything has been tested. A Mac version is not on the cards at the moment.
